i Light Marina Bay 2018 - Sun Down, Lights On

What is iLight Marina Bay?

Blink, blink! And there goes Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year. Time sure flies for the last couple of months, as we are finally entered the last month of the first quarter of 2018. And as March kicks in, it’s time for one of the most anticipated annual event in Singapore --- iLight Marina Bay 2018.

Held since 2010, iLight Marina Bay is a free showcase of light art installations, which takes place around Marina Bay waterfront. This year is the sixth edition, and will feature 22 light art installations from 14 countries, including Singapore.

Admission: Free Admission
Time: Sunday to Thursday 7:30pm to 11:00pm , Friday and Saturday 7:30pm to 12:00midnight

Extension to Esplanade Park

For the first time ever, the showcase of light art installations extends beyond Marina Bay waterfront to Esplanade Park, where six installations will be on display. 


Earth Hour Initiative

When we talk about lights and the month of March, we can’t possibly not think of the renowned Earth Hour initiative. On 24 March, the light art installations will be switched off for an hour during the annual lights out event. 


Gastrobeats

Also making a comeback this year is GastroBeats, offering delectable food options and music performances at The Promontory. Expects hipster food for your to feed your growling stomach and Instagram feed.


Art-Zoo Inflatable Playground 

Just like last year, there will also be a large inflatable playground for kids at The Float @ Marina Bay. Do note however, that there will be a separate admission fee for this.


Illumi Fest Run

On 31 March 2018), there will be an ILLUMI FEST RUN where participants will be splashed with glow-in-the-dark water as they dance through different ultraviolet zones. Tickets are sold separately.


Silent Disco

If disco is your thing, look out for the Silent Disco as well. Silent Disco will feature in the GastroBeats festival hub in a temporary two floor venue which boasts an indoor air-conditioned room equipped with an installed bar and kitchen, and a first-floor open-air terrace with spectacular panoramic views of Marina Bay and the surrounding iconic sky line.

Prudential Marina Bay Carnival

There’s also an ongoing Prudential Marina Bay Carnival (which also ends 1 April 2018) held at the Bayfront Event Space, which makes for a great addition to iLight Marina Bay.
