We have covered Pino Latte which is the single most popular café in Khao Kho. But we can’t possibly only eat in one café, can we? Consider yourself blessed if you are visiting Khao Kho anytime soon, as the restaurants and café there springs up like mushrooms, you will be spoilt with choices.
We didn’t stay in Khao Kho for too long to try every single restaurant there, but we recommend the following two restaurants which are worth your time and calories.
Boranniyom Khao Kho Restaurant
(visited Day 2 of 3, dinner)
It was almost dinner time by the time my conference call ended, so we headed out for the boyfriend’s birthday dinner. Boranniyom Khao Kho Restaurant is a local thai restaurant which serves very good authentic Thai cuisine at affordable price. As the restaurant is not located at the side of the valley, there is no impressive view to talk home about. However, what they lack in view, they made up for it with the taste of their food.
We ordered tomyum seafood soup, fried pork belly, chili prawn, stir-fry cabbage and mushroom omelette for the two of us and the bill came up to only 940 Baht (RM 119 / SGD 40).

Oh, and we ordered beer and thai milk tea to complete the meal |
How To Get There
Boranniyom Khao Kho Restaurant is located in Khao Kho, a district in Phetchabun Province, about 6-hour drive from Bangkok or 2-hour drive from Phitsanulok. We rented a car from Bangkok and drove to Khao Kho, however you can also take a car charter, a public bus or fly to Phitsanulok and rent a car there.

Opening hours: Thursday to Tuesday, from 7am to 9pm
Tanrak Talaymok
(visited Day 3 of 3, brunch)
Apart from Pino Latte, Tanrak Talaymok is probably the second most popular restaurant in Khao Kho. Food were great although we preferred Boranniyom but the view here is a gem. Perched at a cliff, the restaurant offers picture-perfect view of the mountains. It is no surprise that the place is named Tanrak Talaymok as talay means sea and mok means cloud in Thai.
We reckon a visit here during sunset or sunrise would be pretty amazing given the vantage point advantage it possesses. They also have a flower garden which is equally as beautiful as the ones at Pino Latte, so go ahead and pose for your Instagram feed.

As we were there for brunch, we weren’t too hungry and only ordered a plate of stir-fry pork with rice, a plate of fried calamari and a glass of drink which costs us only 330 Baht (RM 42 / SGD 14).

Epilogue
Our time in Khao Kho is kind of short, hence we weren’t able to explore all the beautiful cafés and restaurants in town. However, we were lucky that both Boranniyom Khao Kho Restaurant as well as Tanrak Talaymok were great picks. We hope you have a wonderful dining experience there as well.
