Sungai Sendat Waterfall – Car Camping At 35 Weeks Pregnant

What???!  You went camping while 35 weeks pregnant?

Well, as a matter of fact, YES!

When a few good friends of mine find out that I’m going on a camping trip at 35 weeks pregnant, many shook their head in disbelief. Even my mother-in-law wasn’t so approving but did not stop us as Terry ensures her that I’m in good hands and there’s nothing to worry about. Of course, my mother is the more paranoid one, so obviously I did not tell her that I was going camping.

Unlike some people who think pregnant women needs to rest more, walk less and stay away from outdoor activities, I belong to the group of mommies who believe in the benefit of working out during pregnancy (as long as it is safe, non-strenuous and your pregnancy is low-risk). I’ve always been into outdoor activities before pregnancy, so I do not see a reason why I should limit myself into staying indoor all the time. Of course, I’m not suggesting that you should be running a marathon, hiking a big mountain, carrying a heavy backpack or participate in water rafting, but milder outdoor activities such as picnicking, brisk walking, easy trekking (flatter terrain and shorter distance) and for my instance here, car camping can be done.

Gunung Nuang via Pangsoon (Hulu Langat) – Popular Training Ground For Upcoming Big Hikes

Exactly 4 years ago (15 Oct 2016) on Facebook, I wrote:

“First Nuang experience, 20km hike... The most strenuous day hike I ever did. No wonder this place is training ground for G7 mountains... I should have come sooner!”

As Facebook reminded me of my first Nuang hike 4 years ago, I recalled that I have never blogged about this hike before. Back then I have just started my blog and was more interested in blogging about my oversea and local travels. Day hike was not in my interest. However, as time passed, I hiked more and more hills and mountains and ended up writing about every single hike regardless of the difficulty and duration. It’s a pity Nuang were left out despite being a very interesting hike and an important milestone in my hiking life.

Bukit Batu Chondong – An Easy Scenic Hike (Update: Now A Prohibited Hill)

This hike was actually two years ago and I had always wanted to conquer all 5 of Tabur Hills and blog all in one post, since Bukit Batu Chondong is often being referred to as an extension to Tabur Hill. However, having only done Tabur Far East and Tabur Extreme, I have yet to have the chance to hike Tabur East, Tabur West and Tabur Extra as entrance to Tabur Hills has been prohibited for years due to increasing reported accidents. As a result, my listicle didn’t come to a fruition.

List of Tabur Hills:
❶ Tabur East
❷ Tabur West
❸ Tabur Far East (hiked in Oct 2016)
❹ Tabur Extreme (hiked in Oct 2016)
❺ Tabur Extra

Lit by Mah Sing: Arts & Lights @ Icon City

What is Arts & Lights

Called Arts & Lights, which is quite self-explanatory, it is an art exhibition featuring lights installations and colourful pop-up art. Dubbed the Malaysia’s first interactive pop-up art and technology experience (which I kind of doubt so), this exhibition is organised by Mah Sing Group. Most Malaysian would know what Mah Sing is, but for those of you foreign readers who didn’t, Mah Sing Group is a Malaysian-listed real estate developer with notable projects around Klang Valley, Penang and Johor Bahru.

So why is a real estate company suddenly organising an art exhibition? Set within the space of 3000 sq m in Icon City, one can easily guess that it’s a marketing strategy by the group to advertise their properties. As if it’s not obvious enough, the exhibition are divided into different rooms named after their properties. Think: Southville, Ventura, Meridin, Vertica, Vista and D’sara. Sounds familiar? There are even properties models placed next to the queue.

I personally think it’s a smart move by the marketing team. Have to give it to them. If you have never heard of those properties before, now you have. And I bet, you will start to pay slightly more attention to the group’s properties from now on.
